Obituary (Chattanooga Times, Feb. 8, 1982, p. A6):
"JACKSON - MRS. VIOLET KING, formerly of 110 Pisgah Ave., widow of Benjamin Harrison Jackson, died Sunday. She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, the daughter of the late John G. and Betty Griffin King. Mrs. Jackson was a former member of Glenwood Garden Club and held memberships with first-Centenary United Methodist Church, O.E.S. Chapter 915 and Ladies' Auxiliary of Southern Railway. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Viola King Thornburg, Jacksonville, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Dr. Cecil P. Hardin officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jerry Owensby, David Thornburg, Vance Owensby, Carlos Rodriguez and Stephen Lee King. Arrangements are by J. Avery Bryan Funeral Home, 747 mcCallie Ave."
