Maxie was the husband of: Glenda Gay (Gilbert) Jackson of whom he married on March 18, 1960, in the home of his parents Conrad and Altha Jackson, in Galena Park, Texas. Father of: Robin Gay (Jackson) Sopchak and Rebecca Jean (Jackson) Henderson. Grandfather (Poppy) of: Carey and Aaron Sopchak, children of Robin and Larry Sopchak and to Joshua, Elizabeth, Rachel, and Samuel Henderson, children of Rebecca and Rex Henderson. Son of: Conrad Jackson and Altha (Rose) Jackson. Brother to: Conrad "Wayne" Jackson.
Maxie served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He was an active member for many years at the Second Baptist Church of Galena Park. Through the years he served as Sunday School teacher, RA (Royal Ambassador) Director, and also served on many building and improvement committies. He worked at Mobile Chemical formally Olin Chemical for over 30 years. He along with his father and brother owed and built the "3J's" Apartments in Galena Park, Texas. Maxie along with his father Conrad, were active Carpenters who built and remodeled many homes and properties throughout the Galena Park and North Channel area. He was known as being a hard worker. This was instilled in him at a young age from his parents. From their chicken egg business,to their family owned gas station and other properties. If Maxie was not on the job, you would always see him at home working on his manicured yard. He however, was never to busy for his family. His love for his family was greatly shown!
