Death Notice for Edward E. [Eugene] Jackson-878
from "The Iron Era", Friday, June 3, 1898 (Volume XXVIII, Number 28, Page 5, Column 1)
"The funeral of the late Edward E. Jackson was held from St. John's Episcopal Church at 8:30 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon. The pallbearers were Messrs. J. N. Brown, Henry Misel, John Venner, Julius Hairhouse, James Shanks and M. V. B. Searing. A delegation from Acacia Lodge, No. 20, F. and A. M., was in attendance. The Rev. Dr. Crittenton conducted the service. Interment was made in Rockaway cemetery."
Munsell's History of Morris County, Page 320, states that he was the treasurer of Acacia Lodge, No. 20, F. and A. M., which explains their presence at the funeral service.
