  Obituary copied from Steve's Find-a-Grave memorial page: Stephen "Steve" A. Gaskill, 73, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at his home in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Steve graduated from South Side High School in 1959. While at South Side he was active in their basketball, football, and tennis programs. Steve served in the Army from 1962-1965. He was a dedicated Police Officer with the Fort Wayne Police Department for 32 years before retiring in 1998. He was a member the Eagles, American Legion Post 499, PBA, FOP, and the NRA. Steve has been involved with baseball his whole life. From coaching his sons to playing fast and slow pitch baseball as well as being an avid Yankees Fan Baseball was a part of his life. Steve also enjoyed bowling, history, collecting memorabilia of his likes, and being a "Snow Bird" with his wife in Florida. Steve is survived by . . . Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Dorothy Gaskill. . . . Burial with Military and Police Honors in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
