Hoops, 66, of 510 Mill St., New Lexington, died at 8:30 p.m. Monday at Good Samaritan Medical Center, where she had been a patient since Dec 24. A lifetime resident of New Lexington, Mrs. Hoops was a retired machine operator for Hull Pottery in Crooksville. She was born Oct 26, 1915, in Moxahala, a daughter of Edith Wilson McCune of Corning Route 1 and the late Edward McCune. Her husband, Ezra J. Hoops, died in 1973. Surviving in addition to her mother are five daughters, Mrs. Roger (Nancy) Newlon of New Lexington, Ohio, Mrs. A.B. (Ruth) Wilson of New Lexington Route 1, Mrs. Allen (Patricia) Forgave of Crooksville and Mrs. Rex (Dorothy) Wood and Mrs. James (Peggy) Owens, both of Shawnee; a son, Edward J. Hoops of New Lexington; 22 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; a sister; Miss Mae McCune of Corning Route 1 and two brothers, Tom McCune of Corning Route 1 and Charles McCune of New Lexington. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Roberts Funeral Home in New Lexington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Frank Cheesebrew officiating. Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery.
